The rising young British composer Luke Bedford, comes to the Linbury Studio Theatre with his new opera– a co-production between ROH2, award-winning company The Opera Group, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Tramway. The opera, with a libretto by Glyn Maxwell and designs by Japanese visual artist Tadasu Takamine, takes its inspiration from Milton's masterpiece 'Paradise Lost'. When seven angels fall to rest on a desert landscape, they imagine the creation of a legendary garden that once flourished there and its destruction from greed and neglect. Nicholas Collon conducts a cast including Rhona McKail, Emma Selway, Louise Mott, Christopher Lemmings, Joseph Shovelton, Owen Gilhooly and Keel Watson.
