Dvorák's tale of myth and magic, human and supernatural, love and death is staged for the first time at Covent Garden. In a production new to The Royal Opera by Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito. The classic fairytale, which invites comparison to 'The Little Mermaid', is updated to draw out its themes of love and betrayal. Starring Camilla Nylund (Rusalka), with Petra Lang (Foreign Princess), Bryan Hymel (Prince) and Agnes Zwierko (Jezibaba). The conductor is Yannick Nézet-Séguin. (Sung in Czech with English surtitles; running time three hours and ten minutes.)
