During Elizabeth I's reign, Sir Walter Raleigh was a much-loved swashbuckling adventurer and queen's favourite. Then when James I took over, things started to go pear-shaped... This new interactive show recreates Raleigh's trial for treason, casting 12 audience members as the jury. Compiled, dramatised and edited by Oliver Chris, 'Ralegh: The Treason Trial' is a look into a tense moment of 17th century history, performed in modern dress. (Oh, and the spelling? The Globe are on a quixotic mission to get us to revert to Raleigh's own preferred way of writing his name).
