Time Out says

After scrapping one comeback season due to the third lockdown, the Lyric Hammersmith is hopefully back for good with ‘Out West’, a trio of short plays from big-name writers Tanika Gupta, Simon Stephens and Roy Williams. Gupta’s ‘The Overseas Student’ is a drama about Mohandas Gandhi’s days studying law in England; Stephens’s ‘Blue water and cold and fresh’, about a man forced to confront his own privilege and his father’s racism; and Williams’s ‘Go Girl’, concerning a disillusioned female Black security guard who suddenly has to prove her resilience. Rachel O’Riordan and Diane Page co-direct.
