As Qatar builds huge stadiums for the 2022 FIFA world cup, there's been a slow simmer of dissent at the country's treatment of migrant labourers. Ahilan Ratnamohan, a Sri Lankan-Australian footballer-artist, has built this show around interviews with these labourers. 'Mercenary' explores the gap between media hype and reality, using Ratnamohan's distinctive football-inspired movement style and live electronic music by Mutamassik. Part of LIFT Festival 2018.
