Time Out says

A classic bit of Finborough programming, ‘Makeshifts and Realities’ is a triple bill of short plays not staged for almost a century. Somewhat confusingly, it takes its name from a controversial pair of interlinked one-act 1908 plays by Gertrude Robins that follow the difficult choices made by unmarried sisters Caroline and Dorothy as they contemplate marriage in a boorish world; then thrown into the mix is HM Harwood’s 1912 play ‘Honour Thy Father’ about a ruined upper-class family anxiously awaiting a visit from their independently wealthy daughter Claire. Melissa Dunne directs these intriguing rediscoveries.
