Time Out says

Almost 40 years since Peter Brook’s legendary production, here’s Canadian theatre company Why Not Theatre’s own staging of the epic Indian poem, that runs eight times longer than the Bible. It’s divided into two parts: the first, ‘Karma’, tells the story of the Pandava and Kaurava clans and how the consequences of their rivalry echo down through the generations; the second, ‘Dharma’, follows a great battle that destroys the Earth, which must then be rebuilt. Directed by Ravi Jain, it’s the first major international production of ‘Mahabharata’ to be performed by a South Asian-led company.
