Lucy McCormick’s queasily full-on blend of avant-garde performance art, popstar razzle-dazzle and extreme, often eye-watering sexual content has delightfully made her a star of sorts. Or at least, her jaw-dropping-in-every-sense 2016 show ‘Triple Threat’ set her on a path that culminated in her playing Cathy in Wise Children’s excellent stage version of ‘Wuthering Heights’ that played the National Theatre and toured the UK and US.
Now she’s back to earth with a bump with ‘Lucy & Friends’, her ‘ensemble, cabaret tent spectacular’ although we’re also promised ‘she has no friends, no money, and no tent’. Honestly, who knows what will actually happen, but it’ll no doubt be spectacularly messy, extremely provocative, genuinely funny, and doubtless involve nudity – so much nudity.
