Two years and one pandemic on from Greta Gerwig’s hit film version of Louisa May Alcott’s beloved 1868 novel… here’s the London premiere of a musical version. Following the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy – a quartet of strong-willed sisters growing up in Civil War America – this version of ‘Little Women’ premiered on Broadway in 2005, where it received decent reviews (albeit ones that pointed out it did rather gallop through the plot). Now the adaptation by Allan Knee, Mindi Dickstein and Jason Howland is here, in a reprise of Bronagh Lagan’s 2017 production, which originally ran at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.
