Emma Hamilton was one of the most famous women in Georgian England, born into poverty in rural Cheshire, rising to become the foremost artistic muse of her day and finally becoming a person of great renown when she became mistress to Admiral Lord Nelson. This new drama from veteran playwright April de Angelis stars Caroline Quentin and her daughter Rose as Hamilton in two different points in her life, and centres on her concerted effort to woo Nelson while he is on a trip to Naples. Michael Oakley directs this starry start to the new Jermyn Street season.
