Terry Deary's books wow kids with gore galore, showcasing the side of history that teachers do their best to gloss over. So it's little surprise that the gleeful stage shows they've spawned are a big hit with families. Horrible Histories are marking their fifth year of equally horrible stage shows with a 'Best Of' anniversary production that unites favourite historical figures from Boudicca to body snatchers Burke and Hare.
'The Best of Barmy Britain' will be performed outdoors at Hampton Court Palace over May half-term 2017 - bring a rug to enjoy its terrible Tudors in historical splendour. Or if you can hang on until August, the Horrible Histories gang will be back in the West End for a Summer holidays run.
