From Notting Hill Carnival to the Mangrove 9, the streets surrounding the Gate Theatre have a rich history, fermenting lots of the key moments in the history of the British civil rights movement. Taking its name from the Swahili word for 'coming together', 'Harambee' is a performance that's made in dialogue between older community members and the Gate Theatre's youth company.
