Demon Lover/The Francis Bacon Opera

Andrew Steggall directs Demon Lover, a new chamber opera in development by composer Jools Scott and librettist Sue Curtis. It is an adaptation of the classic ghost story by Elizabeth Bowen. It is followed by 'The Francis Bacon Opera', composed and directed by Stephen Crowe. A work-in-progress performance, it is based on the artist's infamous interview with Melvyn Bragg for the 'South Bank Show', revealing himself at his fiery, vulnerable and inebriated best.
