Come Alive!

Spectacular circus theatre show set to the music of ‘The Greatest Showman’

Time Out says

Disney recently announced that it is working on a live musical adaptation of the Hugh Jackman-starring cinema smash ‘The Greatest Showman’ – and ‘Come Alive!’ is 100 percent not that. Instead this show – the brainchild of US entertainment impressario Simon
Hammerstein – sounds quite a lot like the vibe is ‘imagine a Cirque du Soleil show but the theme was “The Greatest Showman”? To be honest we’re extrapolating a bit here, but rather than tell the story of PT Barnum, it looks like a modern story with Simon Bailey as a ‘Showman’ figure and and Aaliya Mai as Max – ‘a shy young roustabout who has grown up with the circus, has a gang of misfits behind her and is yet to discover her true potential’. There will also be circus performers, singing, dancing and the songs from the film.

Frankly it’s probably the sort of thing you need to see to get your head around it – it’ll also be intriguing to see the venue: the ‘Empress Museum’ is part of the Earl’s Court redevelopment and (we’re fairly sure) not actually a museum.
