Barrie Kosky makes his London opera directing debut with the first of Rameau's works ever to be staged by the ENO. Widely considered to be a crowning achievement of French Baroque opera, Castor and Pollux is unusual in being a celebration of brotherly rather than romantic love. This new co-production with the Komische Oper Berlin stars Allan Clayton and Roderick Williams as the legendary twins whose mutual devotion is so strong that each is willing to die in place of the other. The cast also includes Sophia Bevan (Telaïre) and Laura Tatulescu (Phoebe) under the baton of period specialist Christian Curnyn.
