Julia Pascal's new play 'Blueprint Medea' follows a Kurdish freedom fighter who escapes to London and tries to start a new life, with an undocumented job as a cleaner in a gym, and a relationship with an Iraqi migrant. But when he tries to leave, her whole world comes under threat. This rewrite of a Greek myth is inspired by interviews with Kurdish fighters living in the UK. It's both written and directed by Pascal, who's the first woman to have directed a show at the National Theatre.
