London Armenian Opera presents Armen Tigranian's Armenian folk opera based on Hovhaness Toumanian's epic poem, which vividly portrays village life at the start of the twentieth century. 'Anoush' is a tale of two lovers, bound by emotion, who have to face the tragic consequences of social stigma and conflicting traditional customs. Performed for over a century, this opera has dominated the Armenian cultural landscape since its inception in 1912. Stars Teresa Gevorkian (Anoush), Vahe Begoyan (Saro), Aris Nadirian (Mossi) and Anais Heghoyan (Mother). Levon Parikian conducts the London Armenian Opera Orchestra and Chorus. The director is Seta White; with choreography by Arsen Zakarian. (Not suitable for children under 12.)
