A new production of Kay Mellor's much-loved 1992 play, recently given a fresh airing as a BBC1 drama series starring Sue Johnston and Billie Piper. Marji Piper plays Betty, the woman hiding in the attic on the morning of her son's wedding, remembering what might have been.
