Billing itself as 'Europe's first social ping pong club', Bounce is clearly hoping to emulate the success of fussball bars and bowling clubs, and there's no reason why it shouldn't succeed. Its heritage is strong – it's built on the spot where the game was originally invented by Jaques & Son – and a design by award-winning interior designer Russell Sage incorporates a raised restaurant with a wood-burning pizza oven, a 40ft bar laid out in an arc around 17 ping pong tables, a private room with three tables and cocktail bar, and a range of drinks that includes a strong selection of London beers and cocktails inspired by London's gin palaces. Whether all that will inspire in you the kind of emotions and passion displayed by the magical Will Bayley as he won his silver medal in the London 2012 Paralympic Games remains to be seen, but it's a welcome addition to London's social sports scene.
