To those familiar with the groundbreaking haute couture fashion of Alexander McQueen, one of the great designers of the modern age, it's no surprise that the demand for tickets has been unprecedented. McQueen's work has dazzled the fashion world since his debut line in 1992, and continues to wow despite his untimely death in 2010.
Due to phenomenal demand, the Victoria and Albert Museum has extended ‘Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty’ run until August 2 – including early-morning, evening slots and late entries on Fridays. To experience it for yourself, enter our competition to win one of ten pairs of tickets to the show and a black skull tote bag, Alexander McQueen exhibition catalogue and poster from the V&A shop.
More than 200 pieces of original work from the late designer are on display at the V&A, including a section on McQueen's development in London where he first began his foray into the world of fashion and design. The presentation of the pieces is divided into themes – including A Gothic Mind, Romantic Naturalism and Cabinet of Curiosities – as a fitting tribute to the stylised presentation of the designer's catwalk shows.
