If you don't work in the city, it's unlikely you'll have found the elegant Courtyard shopping and fizz-drinking precinct where Watchfinder resides. It's a little corner of luxury consumption (home to the likes of Hermes and Paul Smith) for those with more money than time - although timepieces are what they'll come to Watchfinder for. It's a connoisseur's store, selling luxurious watches in handsome presentation units. No vulgar price-tags are displayed (well - if you need to know the price, you probably can't afford it) but a nifty iPad perched on each cabinet shows you the detail of each item in depth - from price, to number of carats. The system is easy to navigate and very helpful.
The store is the London retail outpost of online timepiece giant Watchfinder - and it displays only a small edit of their large collection - as well as free copies of their aficionado's watch mag. The selection here is high end - predominantly Rolex watches (prices ranging from just a few to several grand) but also TAG Heuer and a few others - plus some more fashiony brands for ladies with bonuses to burn - it's perhaps the only store in the world where the cheapest products are by Chanel.
If you've got a big birthday (or a big bonus) coming up, you can certainly invest in your wrist candy here. And toast your good fortune at the plush champers bar outside.
