Village Green Market

Hackney Downs Studios, the former printworks turned arts hub, is playing host to the Village Green Market, unveiling itself this time on a Sunday. September's event is themed 'Village Fete', and you can indulge in fresh cocktails while you browse the impressive vintage selection and peruse craft, cake, florist, antique and furniture stalls. You can still sample some Caribbean grub from Mama's Jerk Station, and the festivities will be complete with a coconut shy, a tombola, hopscotch, and tug-o-war - so feel free to bring the kids. This time Three Little Birds, the Hackney reggae/soul/blues band, will be making sure your ears are taken care of. And of course the independent Village Green shops, like cycling specialist the Hackney Peddlar, are also worth a gander.
