Tokyo Fixed, the little lifestyle-oriented bike shop in Soho, has moved into huge new premises in nearby Golden Square and has rebranded itself with some ‘Monocle’-style typogography and a cool, Rapha-esque new look. It’a long been a leader in bike-as-fashion-accessory, but the new site has allows them much more space for a workshop, clothing rails, accessories well-displayed and of course lots of lovely retro-style bikes, both own-brand Tokyo Fixed and from lesser-seen such as Japanese framebuilder Cherubim. There’s also a surprising number of off-the-shelf carbon fibre or aluminium framed road bikes from Trek and Cannondale, among others. Less ubiquitous are the Vulpine range of urban cyclist clothing, lots of retro-styled accessories for fixies (single-gear bikes), and a little takeaway café counter at the front, where café-racers can dose up on caffeine and croissants before a Lance Armstrong style dash to the next set of traffic lights.
