This lovely shop has the kind of interior many of us strive to create at home: careful, but unfussy, cosy yet airy. The furniture, a sleeker Scandinavian take on English country, is all handmade to measure in its workshop in Surrey. Constructed in wood (including solid pine and oak), the range includes tables, chairs, drawer units, chicken-wire linen cupboards, desks and benches – painted in a choice of colours and priced per square foot. The freestanding furniture, such as the superb housekeeper’s cupboard, provides a flexible alternative to a fitted kitchen. Chairs and sofas are covered in antique and vintage cloth, which is also for sale in lengths, as is a lovely hand-block-printed cloth. The accessories are particularly attractive, from pretty cushions to delightful cat doorstops. The place also has a good selection of lamps, shades, bags, aprons and table linen. Come Christmas, it’s the place to head to for unusual decorations for the tree.
