If you consider yourself a bookworm with an interest in the industry behind your stacked shelves of tomes, the London Book Fair will be heaven for you. What started out as a publishing industry event has now grown into a massive three-day book-filled extravaganza attended by as many as 25,000 people. There’ll be over 1,000 companies exhibiting at the Olympia showcase, while there’ll be talks, seminars and conferences covering all manner of topics related to the publishing world.
This year, look out for keynotes from Waterstones’ James Daunt and Hachette UK & US’ David Shelley, who’ll be discussing the evolving publishing landscape, and The Situationship author Taylor Dior-Rumble and #MerkyBooks New Writers’ Prize 2022 winner Will Rayfet Hunter, who’ll be chatting about cultivating the next generation of readers. Seminars will also include discussions on the likes of AI and copyright across the UK and US, UK and international book market trends in 2024, book-to-screen adaptations, the art of creating an audiobook, sustainability in publishing, and AI-assisted content for non-fiction publishers.
