‘I design for rockers, and then chicks buy my stuff,’ says Reino Lehtonen-Riley, who has been scouted by department store Harvey Nichols. The company was started by his father, Paterson Riley, in 1972 with the fashion and music industry in mind. As planned, rock legends and fashionistas jumped on the The Great Frog's skull-and-crossbones jewellery creations, and clients flaunting pieces have included Lady Gaga, Keith Richards, Slash and Kate Moss. All jewellery is hand carved in the basement and designs range from a simple skull ring to a rather eerie (and intricate) skeleton hand pendant.
