Smith’s is of those places that leaves you with a swish in your hair and a spring in your step. The salon’s style is classic Soho – bright white and neutral décor, wood and marble finishes. It’s not the most cutting edge or high-luxe destination, but it’s welcoming and the staff are chatty and down to earth. Opened in 1997 by Vincent Smith, who has snipped the locks of a fair few celebs in his time, most of the staff here have a sideline of some sort, styling for magazines, fashion shows and the like, so they’re an interesting and creative bunch. On our visit, a bit of a trim and restyle was all that was in order and the cut was great: swift, unfussy, expertly executed and beautifully styled. They use incredible-smelling Pureology potions that you can inhale while having your head massaged, plus fancy Brocato mists and styling products. Lovely.
Prices £45-£105 for ladies cut and blow dry. Colouring from £45.
