Puppet Planet

A specialist marionette shop that’s run by Lesley Butler, whose passion for stringed characters is all too evident in the range of stock hanging about here. There are classic Pelham characters, traditional Indian and African marionettes, Balinese shadow puppets and vintage figures. Apart from puppets, the shop also sells Melissa & Doug’s wonderful stuffed toy animals and Crafty Kids craft kits, many of which allow you to make your own puppet. There are occasional storytelling events and Punch and Judy parties in store. Best to call in advance if you’re making a special trip to the shop as Butler occasionally closes it to put on puppet shows for children’s parties.
