If it weren't for the fact that the prices are displayed in the windows, you'd think the wares sold at Maya Magal's first shop would be way out of most Londoners' budgets – her pieces have a distinct high-end air about them. But the jewellery designer prides herself on her fair pricing, as a way of ensuring everyone can get a piece of her affordable luxury.
The Upper Street shop, formerly a hardware store, is a quirkily-shaped space whose whitewashed walls show off its lovely original features. Display cases around the circumference of the room hold Londoner Magal's effortlessly modern, delicately minimalist designs – think slender, beaten rose gold bangles, tiny, clean midi rings designed for stacking, and angular geometric earrings featuring fine gold and silver pentagons. Her trinkets, whose simple elegance have undoubtedly been influenced by her time spent in menswear, have adorned the likes of fashion heavyweights including Alexa Chung and Jourdan Dunn.
Items start from just £25 and most stay below the £300 mark, but the stunning (and we don't use that word lightly) engagement rings, exclusive to the store, will set you back a couple of grand at least – but would be very hard to say 'no' to, we're sure.
