Move over Kanye West the (self-proclaimed) ‘Louis Vuitton don’. The soothsayer of monogram chic has its eyes on a bigger prize: London. After securing 35,000 sq ft of prime Bond Street real estate, the city has been blessed with – drum roll please – the most luxurious Louis Vuitton store in the world.
Designed by New York City’s Peter Marino, the Maison (which is LV lingo for megastore) is similar to flagships in New York, Paris and Hong Kong, but stocked with the most rare and exclusive of Louis Vuitton finds. Complete with a Men’s Club Area, huge changing rooms and a ‘Librairie’, which sells a selection of contemporary British art books, it’s a new branded universe. Dog bags priced at £1,000 are just the beginning.
