Reptile expert Simon King set up this exotic pet shop, supplying arachnids, snakes, amphibians, invertebrates and reptiles, in 1997. Any squeamish readers out there can relax, though – all the creatures are safely ensconced in their cages. Prices vary widely depending on the rarity of the specimen; a tarantula will set you back between £10 and £200, lizards go for £8 to £800 and baby corn snakes are £45. Kings also breeds rare monitor lizards and runs a pet-sitting service. Crickets, locusts and frozen mice are for sale for pets’ snacks, and there are all sorts of cages. A modest selection of cold-water and tropical fish is available downstairs.
