The first Iris – the ultimate yummy mummy’s neighbourhood boutique – opened in 2005 in Queen’s Park; since then, owners Annie Pollet and Sarah Claassen have opened two more stores – this one on Battersea’s Northcote Road, and another one more recently on Chiswick High Road – turning the brand into a mini-chain of feminine frocks. As well as stylish womenswear from a good mix of classic boutique labels, such as APC, Orla Kiely, Vanessa Bruno, Humanoid, Isabel Marant, Antik Batik and J Brand, the shop stocks pretty lingerie, Paul & Joe make-up, Cowshed beauty products, Zoe & Morgan jewellery, and a range of cute kidswear. The customer base is stylish young mums, and Pollet and Claassen’s thoughtful and friendly approach (there are toy boxes provided to keep the tots occupied, for instance) helps to create a stress-free shopping experience.
