Georgina Goodman’s smart flagship store, which opened in 2008, brings new blood to Old Bond Street. The RCA graduate launched her label back in 2001 crafting made-to-measure footwear from a single piece of untreated leather – and a couture service is still available. Since then, she has gone on to design for everyone from Alexander McQueen to Evans, and began ready-to-wear in 2004.
Her personal touch remains thanks to the inscription ‘Made in Love’ on the sole of every mainline shoe. Goodman is known for using a dramatic mix of textures and colours, with snakeskin, patents and satin often making an appearance, and with inspiration coming from some original sources. Show-stopping killer heels share shelf space with rock-tinged boots and her signature colourful slippers. This level of craftsmanship doesn’t come cheap, however, with prices starting at £320 for flats.
