Barley Massey’s studio/shop/gallery is an outlet for her distinctive textile designs. Among the regularly changing offerings, you might find Massey’s cushions made from vintage fabrics, and knitted lambswool creatures or items of food (the latter recently made for an entertaining window display). There’s a quirky haberdashery section, with a small but unusual selection of wool, needles and patterns, and the shop also does a good line in seasonal items, cards and gifts, as well as Hackney mementoes, such as ‘I love Hackney’ badges. Regular classes are held for those keen to learn the crafts of knitting and needlework.
