If a mane fit for an episode of ‘Made in Chelsea’ is what you crave, South Ken salon Clo&Flo is on hand to deliver. The petite shop, minutes’ walk from the tube and the area’s famed museums, was buzzing on the drizzly Saturday morning that I visited.
Named after a pair of perfectly maned sisters, Clo&Flo at Bellisima is a family affair through and through. Chloe, with her background in events, overseas the running of the salon while Florence looks after the creative side of things. The women took over the business from their father Francois Michel Bellas, who drove to London from Corsica in the ‘60s to set up a hair-cutting empire. And while I was in these multi-tasking sisters manned reception, washed hair, chatted easily to customers all the while maintaining their own impressive blonde blow-outs.
Their place feels well-loved and has relaxed yet efficient vibe. Clo&Flo do cuts, colour, hair treatments and make-up, but the morning we visited was all about those sleek, swishy blow-dries. One after another, after another, women walked through the door, unwashed hair pulled up into messy buns on top of their heads, and left with glossy and glorious hair ready for the day. I followed suit, my head full of bouncy curls held high.
