While the basic concept remains the same, a recent spruce-up has left Vitao looking healthier than ever. The good-value buffet is arranged around one wall and the front counter. Choose the size of plate you want – small (£5.50), large (£6.50) or a plate that can be refilled within the space of an hour (£8.90) – pay, and then help yourself to the array of vegetarian, vegan, macrobiotic, gluten-free and/or raw food dishes that span the globe, from sprouted chickpea curry to vegetable paella via greek salad.
Dishes can be on the watery side, and veg a little undercooked, but the health-factor is taken seriously, and staff are helpful and friendly. What’s more, the juice/smoothie/espresso bar is extensive.
