This Old Street restaurant, at the M by Montcalm Hotel on City Road, comes from well-respected catering and restaurant group, Searcy's. As with most of their venues, there's a British slant to the food and drink here.
Starters include sardines with caponata on toast and beetroot with goat's cheese and walnut granola. Mains range from poshed-up fish and chips and liver, mash and crispy bacon to whole plaice, steaks and spatchcock chicken cooked on a Josper grill. Desserts include rice pudding, passion fruit cheesecake and bitter chocolate with malt ice cream.
Wines are from worlds old and new, while beers include Paxton APA Pale Ale, Camden Hells Lager and Fat Yak Ale, from Australia.
