Enter this tiny coffee shop and you could be forgiven for thinking you can pick up something a bit stronger than a flat white. Beer bottles are lined up against deep green tiled walls, and even Tonic's choice of name call to mind a bar. But it's part of the Coffeesmiths Collective of coffee shops, and is dedicated to a big variety of proper coffees. The cakes and biscuits were also made by someone who knew what they were doing – we enjoyed a tangy lemon loaf cake and almondy Bakewell slice on our visit. Seating is very minimal (two stools) and there is little space for anything more. It's good as a place to pick up a very well-made coffee on the go, but not recommended for those who want to rest their legs with a savoury bite to eat.
