It's all about authentic Indian flavours at this restaurant and bar close to Queensbury tube station. They're put together in an impressive open-plan kitchen - the centrepiece in a nattily refurbished venue once home to a traditional British boozer.
There's plenty of variety on a menu leaning heavily on curry house staples - think chicken patia, karahi lamb masala, prawn dhansak, butter chicken and lamb rogan josh. Less common dishes include pan-fried tilapia marinated in an aromatic spice blend, Bombay chicken bahar and mari mogo - a vegetarian dish of cassava tossed in onions and black pepper.
Desserts, such as various kulfi, sweet paan and ras malai - the creamy dessert from Odisha - offer more authenticity. And if you want to dine at home? There's your standard take away but also whole roast tandoor chickens and slow-cooked legs of lamb with a kheema gravy and roast potatoes - for an alternative Sunday roast, perhaps.
