Time Out says

Tucked in the backstreets of north Mayfair, the Garden Café offers refuge from the chaotic shopping throng of the nearby thoroughfares.

Sitting atop a baroque-style stone platform, originally the roof of an electricity sub-station, the new café building is a modern glass-sided structure. The rest of the rooftop is spacious with flower-laden planters and additional alfresco seating.

Part of the Benugo chain, the café offers pre-prepared sandwiches and box salads. Our Asian beef noodle salad had depth of flavour and texture, but the falafel in our falafel and houmous salad lacked crunch, but was otherwise fine.

A selection of classic cakes, laid out on blue and white china, are strategically positioned in the middle of the café. Offering the usual chain café fare, the Garden Café may not be wildly exciting, but it’s beautiful location maker it worth seeking out.
