This Palmers Green coffee shop takes its name from a song on Prince's 1987 album Sign o' the Times. It's about a girl, Cynthia Rose, who had starfish and coffee, maple syrup and jam, butterscotch cloud, a tangerine and a side order of ham for breakfast every day. That's quite some order.
Here it's more conventional. Expect things like granola with yoghurt, 'naked' sandwiches of smashed avocado, poached egg and toasted sourdough, or fried portobello and chestnut mushrooms with garlic butter and parsley on toast, chicken club sandwiches, falafel wraps and a 'starfish breakfast' of fried eggs, smoked bacon, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and toast.
And the coffee? The beans they roast are on rotation, and go to make all the modern-day usuals such as flat whites, macciatos, espressos, frappes and cold-brews. A short drinks list includes bottled beers such as Wild Beer Epic Saison, Siren Liquid Mistress and Otley blonde beer.
