Close to Clapham North station, this dinky family-run eatery offers a modest selection of Greek and Med-inspired plates at knockdown prices. The interior is nothing to write home about, but you’re here for the great-value food and the very personal down-home vibe. Simply pick a meat, vegetarian or vegan feast, with an array of meze and warm bread to kick things off (think spanakopita, imam bayeldi, aubergine salad, tzatziki). After that, there’s a choice of full-sized dishes (chicken afelia, beef stifado, moussaka etc), served with rice, couscous or potatoes, and at the end, the chef/owner will bring you some homemade yoghurt and honey to sooth the palate. Space is tight and it can get incredibly noisy – also remember to bring some cash (they don’t take cards).
