The service is so warm and enthusiastic at Amber Grill Rodizio, it’s a shame to report its attempt at a classic Brazilian dining experience falls flat.
Things looked promising enough as skewers heavy with various cuts of pork, chicken, lamb and beef were ferried from the grill to our plates, but the chicken hearts were rubbery, the beef shank tough, and the spiced sausages tiny and crisp.
Only the sublimely tender picanha (rump steak) impressed, and, generously, appeared
at the table more than once. Even the all-you-can-eat hot and cold buffet was a mixed beast, with some tired salads among the bland feijão (black beans) and tepid rice.
Still, live music on Saturdays (along with excellent caipirinhas) could completely lift a meal here.
