Tucked away behind Hammersmith’s main drag, this curious little place looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland – a cross between a magical woodland glade and your eccentric aunt’s front room. Glittering chandeliers, stuffed animals, beautiful fairy-tale antiques, blossoming trees and even a giant unicorn head set the scene for coffee and cake, traditional afternoon tea and an evening repertoire of Thai food with no-corkage BYO. The latter means tom yam soup, spring rolls, som tum salad, satays, curries, seafood stir-fries and pad thai – as well as a few Chinese interlopers such as crispy aromatic duck. There are branches nearby on Greyhound Road and Brackenbury Road. Cash only.
