Time Out says

The Rye pub in Peckham, recently taken over by new tenants The Capital Pub Company, is now the home of the Meatwagon, aka Meateasy, to its first a fixed location after leaving a room above a pub in New Cross. It is cooking at this Peckham pub a few nights a week, taking advantage of the 200-seater outdoor area.

Expect a sampler of Meateasy’s greatest hits, from big, sloppy burgers made with prime ingredients (28-day dry-aged steak in a freshly baked sourdough bun) to skinny fries, home-made ’slaw and crispy-on-the-outside, soft-in-the-middle onion rings.

Be warned though that, on our visit, the food simply wasn’t up to the previous Meateasy standards when it was in its prime.

Things are clearly still in a state of flux, but as went to press, Monday nights were being turned over to other street traders for pop-up evenings. So you may find traders such as Kolkata Street Food, Choc Star, Ca Phe VN, The Dogfather and more besides.

In the meantime the pub is not hugely different under new ownership, but a refurb is planned at the end of the summer.
