This Hackney Road restaurant brings modern British cooking to Bethnal Green. It's set in a building dating back to 1886 so there's plenty of history here - it once played host to a traditional East End boozer, The Queen Adelaide, and then to a private members' club, Images.
Today it showcases food and wine. Dishes from a varied menu range from oak-smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraîche, capers and baby watercress to rib-eye steaks, a sun-dried tomato, roasted red pepper and feta risotto and a cassoulet of confit duck leg, chorizo, spinach and white beans.
A short wine list features mostly bottles from Chile, Portugal and France. Prosecco is on offer, too.
