With its hippyish heart-themed logo and new-age slogan (‘Be vegan, make peace’), this international chain puts on a happy, shiny face, spreading the word from Austria to Australia. Like its global cousins, Loving Hut’s Archway outpost focuses on plant-based dishes inspired by pan-Asian cuisine, with organic vegetables, non-GMO products and locally sourced ingredients used where possible. Much of the menu has a familiar ring, but with a mock-meat twist – ‘veggie’ BBQ spare ribs, ‘veggie’ chicken drumsticks with sweet-and-sour sauce, shredded vegan chilli beef, crispy aromatic ‘veggie’ duck with all the trimmings, and even pimped-up salt-and-spicy ‘prawns’ that have never seen the sea. After that, go for the golden carrot cake or a toffee apple with ice cream (vegan, of course). Drinks follow the same theme, so dunk your straw into a vegan chocolate milkshake or a ‘green queen’ smoothie.
