Please note, this branch, previously called Konditor & Cook, has been renamed Konditor and no longer has a savoury offering. Time Out Food editors, DECEMBER 2019.
Gerhard Jenne caused a stir when he opened this bakery on a South Bank side street in 1993, selling rudie gingerbread people for grown-ups and lavender-flavoured cakes. It’s now a mini chain with a few branches (including a swanky café in the Gherkin). The distinctive folds of the whisky and orange bombe make it one of the best-known cakes in the range.
Look out especially for seasonal treats such as pumpkin pie in October and mince pies in December, and don’t miss the terrific hot chocolate, made with double cream and Valrhona couverture. Quality prepacked lunchtime salads, sandwiches and sausage rolls are also available.
Branches throughout city.
