This popular Upper Street restaurant goes big on crowd-pleasing dishes from regions across China, though the focus is firmly on Guangzhou (Cantonese). You’ll recognise a lot of what’s on offer (Singapore fried noodles, chicken chow mein, kung po chicken, roast duck), but if you’re up for going off the beaten track, you’ll certainly be able to.
A few examples? Stir-fried scallop with broccoli with black truffle, abalone with chicken soup, grilled lamb chop with honey and pepper sauce, and venison and green asparagus with XO sauce. There’s also a very solid selection of dim sum, and the chef’s specials are definitely worth checking out – we really like the look of the sauteed sea bass fillet with chilli black bean.
