Here, the holiday season is embraced with uncommon enthusiasm, resulting in menus that are big on Christmas flavours and the twinkly ambience of a Santa’s grotto.

Jackson & Rye City
Jackson & Rye City

At this all-day dining spot in the City, you can soak up the festive atmosphere morning, noon or night. As well as flavours of the season, expect crackers, prosecco and Lapland levels of Christmas cheer.
Don’t miss: Considering Christmas is taken so seriously, the festive menu is a must. Pork belly with truffle mash may make you wonder why you even bother with turkey.

Christmas canapes, hampers to take away and a big Boxing Day brunch (with bottomless fizz) are just a few of the signs that this Chelsea restaurant thinks it’s the most wonderful time of the year.
Don’t miss: Turkey with all the trimmings is the obvious pick from the Christmas menu, which is in force until December 24. Creamed sprouts with chestnuts, duck-fat roasties – whoever’s doing your Christmas lunch will have a lot to live up to this year.

The month-long Christmas party at M makes no apologies and the Santa Brunch here promises liquor-laced lollies and candy cane shots, alongside free-flowing champagne and live DJs. Expect to leave feeling very jolly indeed.
Don’t miss: You’ll want some food with your booze – go for the decadent lobster with truffle mac and cheese.

Bocconcino
Bocconcino

If you can’t squeeze in a quick jaunt over to Italy in the run-up to Christmas, a visit to this Mayfair restaurant is the next best thing. As well as decking out the dining room in Christmassy trinkets for the season, it also operates a menu offering authentic Italian Christmas dishes. Buon natale!
Don’t miss: If you thought British Christmas dishes were indulgent, wait until you try Bocconcino’s oozy saffron risotto with slow-cooked guinea fowl.

This Clapham boozer is the pub equivalent of that neighbour who covers his entire house in fairy lights every year. Not only can you buy your Christmas tree from it (and get a free mulled wine in the process!), but it’s also open on the big day itself, should you fancy letting someone else do the hard work this December 25.
Don’t miss: Fancy something a touch different this year? Go for the Christmas Day roast halibut with sauteed sprouts and roast carrots.
